I spent the last week in the Studio at Corning in Corning, New York, taking Jiyong Lee's Exploration in Coldworking class.

It was a fabulous class, and Jiyong is an excellent teacher. I learned a ton. Yes, I honed in on the gamut of cold working tools, but more importantly, I learned how critical every single step is to the process and why.

As we worked, we examined light and how to use it in design. My piece is very much NOT finished. The final full work day, which was also the day that I had planned for my busiest/longest work day, was riddled with challenges, including the electric company’s substation catching fire and a subsequent power outage.

Here I present to you my unfinished piece. I won’t be able to work on it again for several weeks.
